An internationally acclaimed performer and educator based out of Minneapolis, Preston Duncan has been hailed as “displaying his saxophone mastery” (The Indianapolis Star) with “virtuosic brilliance” (the Muncie Start/Press) as a “terrific talent” (Marvin Hamlisch).
He has appeared as soloist throughout the United States, Latin America and Europe. He has performed on over 65 occasions as soloist with large ensembles including The Indianapolis Symphony Orchesta, La Grande Orchestre des Alpes de la Mer of Nice, the Bowling Green State University Philharmonic, the University of Minnesota Symphony Orchestra and many others. He has performed internationally in such prestigious venues as the Salle Verdi (Milan), the American Embassy (Paris), The Royal Conservatory (Brussels), Circle Theater (Indianapolis), UNAM Hall (Mexico City), the National University (Taipei), Salle Verdi (Montevideo), the National Conservatory (Zagreb), the National Conservatory (San Jose), and Disneyland (Los Angeles).
As a chamber musician he has performed with the Minnesota Orchestra, the Indianapolis Pops, The Minnesota Pops, The Indianapolis Symphony and with such acclaimed artists as Rosemary Clooney, Azmira-Woodward-Page, Marvin Hamlisch and Jeremy Denk.
Duncan was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to Paris, France.He has won numerous awards and prizes including 1st prize in the MTNA National Woodwind Competition. He was the featured performer and educator at the 1st Annual Taiwanese National Saxophone Festival, the 12th Annual Encuentro Universitario Internacional de Saxofón in Mexico City and Saxfest Costa Rica in 2015. This summer will be the featured performer at the 4th International Festival of Saxophones in Montevideo Uruguay. Duncan currently teaches saxophone at the University of Minnesota. During the summer he teaches on the faculty at Ticino Musica International in Lugano Switzerland and Shell Lake Arts Center. He has premiered works by Bernard Rands, Ernesto Pellegrini, Joseph Dangerfield, Kenneth Fuchs and many others.
Duncan performs exclusively on the Buffet Senzo saxophone and Legere Reeds Duncan is a Eugene Rousseau Mouthpiece Artist.
Davide Nari has played in hundreds concerts as soloist, in chamber music concerts and symphonic orchestral productions in Italy and abroad (Europe, USA, Asia) and he has produced many CDs for important record companies (Warner Music Italy, Da Vinci Publishing, Ars Publica).
He has played with the “Carlo Felice” Orchestra in Genoa, the “Arena di Verona” Orchestra, the “Haydn” Orchestra in Bolzano and the “Teatro Lirico di Cagliari” Orchestra during operas, musicals and symphony concerts conducting by M° W. Marshall, D. Renzetti, A. Chauhan, T. Brock, J. Lowe, D. Smith, B. Venezi and S. Lloyd.
He has been on tour in USA with the Duo Brillance, the Klonos Trio and the Trio Panamericano, playing and teaching at: University of Minnesota (of which he was also a substitute teacher), Bemidji State Unversity, Augsburg University (Minnesota); Manhattan School of Music, Queensborough Community College (New York); Western Connecticut State University (Connecticut); McNeese State University (Louisiana). In 2018 he played and teached as the only European teacher at the “1st Saxophone Camp” in Seoul, South Korea, together with international saxophonists (Hiroshi Hara, Ching-Shyan Yen, Brandon Jinwoo Choi e Seung-dong Lee). In 2019 he was finalist for the tenor saxophone audition at the Regio Theater Orchestra in Turin.
In 2012 he graduated with full marks in saxophone at the “N. Paganini” Conservatory in Genoa, in 2014 he obtained the Second Level Academic Diploma (Master level, Music Performance) in saxophone with full marks at the same Conservatory and in 2015 he obtained the Second Level Academic Diploma (Master Level) in Chamber Music at the “G. Nicolini” Conservatory in Piacenza with full marks and Honors. He obtains the prestigious “LTCL” degree at “Trinity College of London”. He’s specialized in teaching methods, musical pedagogy and psychology. He has attended music workshops held by Profs. Luigi Gallo, Nobuya Sugawa and many others; he also studied orchestral conducting and in 2017 he was selected as conducting student by M° Donato Renzetti for the Conducting Masterclass in Milan with the “I Pomeriggi Musicali” Symphonic Orchestra.
Davide Nari currently teaches saxophone at the “G. Bruno” Musical High School in Albenga, at the AIYA – Mooc Culture Institute in Singapore and at the Civica Scuola di Musica in Ovada (AL). He is the artistic director at the Musical Society “S. M. Immacolata” in Loano (SV), at the Complesso Bandistico “A. Forzano” in Savona and of the Calizzano Creative Saxophone Festival.
He was selected for the project “Studi per l’intonazione del mare” by S. Sciarrino organized by Teatro alla Scala and MilanoMusica; in December 2023 he performed at the World Saxophone Congress (Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, SPA) in two concerts with the Klonos Trio. He was a soloist with the “Conservatory N. Paganini” Symphonic Orchestra in many theatres, like the “Carlo Felice” Theatre in Genoa, at the “Sala Verdi” in Milan. He regularly performes world and national premieres of contemporary composers including N. Kapustin, M. Mangani, M. Lombardi, L. Fialdini, K. M. Murphy, G. Wanamaker. He won many prestigious first prizes in national and international music competitions in soloist and chamber music sections including the MAP International Music Competition, Los Angeles (USA), 2021. He has published his own arrangements for saxophone for the music publisher “Eufonia” and as indipendent publisher; he is the dedicatee of various compositions and he is regularly invited to hold saxophone masterclasses.
He is currently member of the music chamber duo “Duo Brillance”, of the “Trio Klonos”, of the “Trio Panamericano”, of the “Trio Aelia” and of the “R. Zegna Jazz Orchestra”. He has performed also jazz music with international level artists in important jazz festivals including the “Torino Jazz Festival”, “TriesteLovesJazz”, “UnoJazz” of Sanremo (IM) and “Andora Jazz Festival” (SV).
He played also with the “Sanremo” Symphony Orchestra, the Ensemble Nuove Musiche, the “Opera Giocosa” in Savona, with artists such as Arno Bornkamp, Eric Marienthal, Timothy McAllister, Baptiste Herbin, Riccardo Zegna, Preston Duncan, Nicolas Arsenijevic, Jérôme Laran, Hiroshi Hara, Pietro Tonolo, Gabriele Mirabassi, Gabriele Evangelista, Luigi Bonafede, Giuseppe Andaloro, Andrea Bacchetti and he collaborated with Francesco Cafiso, Dado Moroni, Dino Rubino and Enrico Zanisi.

Federico Gerini is an Italian Pianist and Teacher, involved both in Radical Improvisation and in Contemporary Music.
He graduated in 2003 with honors in classical piano at the “G. Puccini” Conservatory in La Spezia, then he obtained in 2009 at the same Conservatory the Second Level Academic Degree in Piano (Repetiteur) and, in 2011, the Second Level Academic Degree in Instrumental Didactics, both with honors. He studied classical piano with Ugo Tonarelli, Amelia Bianchi, Giovanni Gronchi, Alberto Pedri, Giuseppe Bruno, Giampiero Semeraro, Riccardo Risaliti, Daniel Rivera. He also studied operistic and liederistic repertoire with Francoise Ogeas and Maurizio Di Robbio, and chamber-instrumental music with Francesco Paolone and Luigi Gallo.
He studied jazz music at the CPM School in Milan, where he obtained in 2003 the “Long Distance” Master degree, then he attended the Siena Jazz International Masterclasses in 2004. He attended numerous Masterclasses held by international level jazz musicians, such as Claudio Capurro, Pietro Leveratto, Luigi Bonafede, Andrea Pozza, Daviano Rotella, Marco Tindiglia and others. He also attended contemporary and experimental music masterclasses (the “Fonterossa Open Orchestra”, the “Tabula Rasa. The art of Improvisation” and “Accademia Chigiana” in Siena).
From 2017 to 2020 He’s been a member of Laboratorio Permanente di Ricerca Musicale headed by Stefano Battaglia at Siena Jazz University, where He has been focusing on total improvisation and piano solo performance.
From 2010 to 2015 He has worked as a Repetiteur, piano accompanist and member of the orchestra at the Puccini Festival of Torre del Lago. From 2014 to 2017 He has worked as piano accompanist at the “Paganini” Conservatory of Genoa, and specialized in classical sax repertoire. From 2012 to 2019 He has worked as piano accompanist at the “City of Carrara” Municipal Institute.
He has collaborated over the years with several Italian theaters such as Verdi Theatre in Pisa, Giglio Theatre in Lucca, Goldoni Theatre in Livorno, Ente Luglio Musicale Trapanese in Trapani, Alighieri Theatre in Ravenna and many others. He has worked under the direction of many conductors like Daniel Oren, Jonathan Webb, Filippo Maria Carminati, Valerio Galli, Alberto Veronesi, Fabio Maestri, Lorenzo Parigi, Flavio Colusso, Nahel Al Halabi, José Miguel Pérez-Sierra, Bruno Nicoli, Francesco Ivan Ciampa, Stefano Visconti.
In the classical-contemporary field is currently a member of Duo Brillance (with Davide Nari on saxophones), Klonos Trio (with Nari and Preston Duncan on saxophones), Trio Panamericano (with Nari and Elena Bacchiarello on clarinet).
In the jazz, improvisational field He currently plays in a duo with percussionist Massimiliano Furia, in a duo with saxophonist Stefano Guazzo, and in a electric fusion trio called Ota Yōkai, with Giacomo Tongiani on drums and percussions and Massimiliano Avallone on bass.
He’s one of the creator and organizer of the Calizzano Creative Saxophone Festival.
He has given concerts in Italy as well as in Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Germany, France and USA.
He has published 11 records of classical and contemporary music, jazz, radical improvisation and experimental, for important labels such as Da Vinci, Dodicilune, Setola di Maiale, Ars Publica, Utility Tapes
