More information about Zeyi Tian:

Zeyi Tian is a Chinese saxophonist currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Minnesota, studying under Dr. Preston Duncan. He is a member of the Wind Music Committee of the Hebei Musicians Association in China and the Baoding Musicians Association in China. Zeyi earned his Bachelor of Music from the Xinghai Conservatory of Music and his Master of Music from the New England Conservatory of Music, where he was a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship.

Zeyi has received numerous awards in international competitions, including the Grand Prize at the 2025 New York Classical Music Competition, First Prize at the 2025 American International Soloists Competition, and the winner of the 2024–25 University of Minnesota Band Concerto Competition, etc.

As both a soloist and principal saxophonist, Zeyi has extensive experience performing with symphony orchestras and wind ensembles, collaborating with renowned conductors including Emily Threinen, Hugh Wolff, David Loebel, Mark Russell Smith, and Charles Peltz, among others.
