Sandra Paola Jiménez Carmona is a Colombian saxophonist trained at the Ottorino Respighi State Conservatory of Music in Latina, Italy. She holds a Master’s degree in Music with a focus on Saxophone from Universidad EAFIT and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Human Sciences at Universidad del Cauca.
Her career is distinguished by a strong commitment to the critical interpretation of Colombian and Latin American repertoire, as well as by her promotion of spaces that foster dialogue between musical traditions and pedagogical innovation.
Mariana, born in Montevideo, Uruguay, embarked on her musical journey at the age of 5, later graduating with a Professor of Piano and Music Solfeggio title in 2000. She furthered her studies, earning a Piano degree from the University School of Music in Montevideo and completing a Master’s Degree in Chamber Music at the National University of Rosario, Argentina. Mariana's specialization in tango performance, under the guidance of pianists Adrián Enriquez andÁlvaro Hagopian, has led to collaborations with renowned orchestras and artists across America, Asia and Europe.
